Challenge Three

Welcome back for the third Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! Your creations for challenge 2 were amazing and so very inspiring! Our absolute favorite part of this challenge is reading which row of the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge inspired you! We hope you continue to play along and use our challenge board as inspiration for your next project!

For this challenge, we included a sketch as one of the element in the challenge board. Ka used a layout from one of her older card and created a sketch based on that card. If you choose the row without the sketch, you may use the sketch as part of your design as long as you include the other three elements. The theme for this third challenge is love. Since Valentine's Day is around the corner, Ka added words and elements that associate with that day. We'd love for you to take some inspiration from the challenge board below using three elements in a row of your choice! Whatever rows you chose and are inspired by is what we challenge you to create!

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamp sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set of their choice. If you already have all three in your stash, why not play to give one of these sets as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

Wedding card

Hello everyone! Olesya here with an inspirational blog post. Today I'm happy to show you my project using three elements from Challenge two: holiday- 100% stamped- die-cuts.

I wanted to make some soft, elegant and sparkly card for my friend's wedding. Great holiday, the born of new family, isn't it?

For this card I chose neutral colors to attract more attention to the diamond in the middle. For the card base I took a piece of white cardstock ( 6"x8") and folded it in a half to make a side folding card. Then cut a panel from Teresa Collins Life Emporium 6"x6" paper pad slightly smaller than a card base and adhered it directly on top with a double-sided tape.

For the front panel I took a piece of craft cardstock. To make the card more elegant and light I heat embossed Peony Scrolls flowers from Altenew with Super fine detail white embossing powder from Ranger on vellum and fussy cut with my scissors. I think they are so beautiful and look weightless. I had a piece of Apple Blossom chipboard frame from Wycinanka that matches here perfectly.

For the sentiment I used Inkadinkado Wedding stamp set and Archival Jet Black inks from Ranger. And now the most interesting part of the card :) it's a diy die-cut diamond. I cut it with a craft knife, heat embossed with some holographic clear embossing powder. For the bottom piece of the stone I took a piece of cardstock, adhered some double-sided tape on top and added dry glitter. Rubbed with my fingers to get rid of falling glitter and adhered both pieces together with Glossy Accents. Then placed the diamond in the center of the frame with some foam tape.

I hope you like this card and hopefully some of these tips will be helpful to you!

Have a wonderful day and happy papercrafting!
Olesya.

If you love and are a fan of our challenge, you may upload our Blog Badge onto the sidebar of your blog with a link back to our challenge blog (we hope you do like our challenge!). We're very sorry for any confusion and hopefully we had clarify this.

Now, onto the challenge. Ka took inspiration from the beautiful winter scenes in Door County in Wisconsin, where she and her husband often go for a weekend get-away. Door County is like the Cape Cod, except it's in the mid-west! It is a popular vacation and tourist destination, especially for us Wisconsinite!

Challenge One

Happy New Year to all of you! We hope 2016 brings each of you happiness, lots and lots of laughter, good health, big and small successes, and a good healthy dose of creative mojo (hopefully inspired by our challenges). :)  We are so excited to be here with you all because today marks the start of our very first Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! We are super excited and can't wait to jump right in!

For this challenge, Ka was inspired by the decorations from her 2014 New Year's Eve party! Her house was filled with lots of gold, sparkles, fun banners and beautiful, sparkly jumbo letters. She even had a huge fancy gold frame for her guests to take pictures in. She thought it would be fun to incorporate some of the elements from her party to the challenge board. :) So, for this challenge, we would love for you to take some inspiration from the challenge board above using three elements in a row of your choice! Whatever rows you choose and are inspired by is what we challenge you to create!

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamps sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set she wants. And, if you already have all three, why not play to give as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

Design Team Member Introduction : Olesya Kharkova

Hello there and welcome back! Today we are so excited to introduce our second designer. She is the super talented lady behind all the beautiful creations and hand drawn details from As If By Magic. Please join us as we welcome, Olesya Kharkova to our team.

"My name is Olesya Kharkova. I live in Russia, Saratov with my husband who supports me in my passion for cardmaking. I have been papercrafting for about 4 to 5 years now. I spend most of my spare time on cardmaking, delicate cutting and coloring because of my love for handmade cards. I just love what I do. I call my style as subject or plot cardmaking because I like to tell some kind of story with my cards. I also love to illustrate my cards by drawing some details to make the images more alive. I am so happy to be a Tic-Tac-Toe design team member!"

Welcome to the team, Olesya! We are so glad to have you join us for this term! And here is Olesya's gorgeous DT entry card.

We love all the super fun elements in Olesya's masculine design, but what really grabbed our eyes from the design were those hand drawn woodgrain slices!!! We love the cool look and think it's SERIOUSLY awsome! :)

Thank you for stopping in today! Come back tomorrow as we will introduce another design team member! Have a great day!
