Challenge Six

Hello! Happy Hump Day to you! We hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! Anyway, a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who played in our last challenge - the cards were exceptional! We will be going through the entries in the next couple days and will announce the winners on Friday.

Before we get to today's challenge, we would first like to invite you to come join us for a super fun "Creative Fools" blog hop on April 1st! That's right! Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge will have its very first blog hop, all organized by our very own designer, Nora Noll! The hop will start right here on the challenge blog at 9 a.m. CST. There will be lots of "punny" inspirations along with prizes to be won! Yep, so make sure to tell all your friends about this hop! The more, the merrier! And don't forget to mark it on your calendar so that you don't miss out on the hop along with some amazing inspirations and awesome prizes! :)

Okay, back to today's challenge. Who is ready for Spring to arrive? I know we are! Here in the Mid-west, we are seeing lots of signs of Spring already. Spring will finally be here very, very soon! Yay! We included in the challenge board showers, umbrellas, and clouds because they are just a few staples for this time of year. :) For this challenge, we'd love for you to take some inspiration from the challenge board below using three elements in a row of your choice. Whatever rows you chose and are inspired by is what we challenge you to create!

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamp sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set of their choice. If you already have all three in your stash, why not play to give one of these sets as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

Friendship - Kind Thanks

Hello Everyone! Tracie here with an inspirational post for Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Five

I have a friendship card to share with you using the middle row: friendship, gold and layers. I had so much fun creating this card. I really hope you like it as much as I do. Little by little I have been inking up my new stamps sets. I have been anxious to create with My Favorite Things, Kind Thanks, so that is my inspiration.

So you can see the statements, below is a picture of the card without the thanks die-cut.

Steps:
1. Complete stamping on a white panel (4.25" x 5.5") of Neenah Classic Solar White 110# cardstock. The sentiments are from My Favorite Things, Kind Thanks stamp set and are stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. The hearts are from Simon Says Stamp, Sending and Wishing stamp set and are stamped in Papertrey Ink, Pure Poppy dye ink and Tsukineko, Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink. The light lines stamped below each statement is a stem from My Favorite Things, Sketched Blooms stamp set and is stamped in WPlus9 Fairy Dust dye ink.
2. Die-cut the stamped panel using the largest die in My Favorite Things, Die-namics Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX. This die measures 4" x 5-1/4".
3. Cut a piece of layering cardstock. I used Papertrey Ink, Pure Poppy and cut to 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".
4. Adhere the two cardstocks together with your favorite adhesive.
5. Poke a hole in the cardstocks from step 4 for the thanks sentiment to anchor from.
6. Take a piece of the white 110# cardstock and apply some VersaMark and gold glitter embossing powder. Then heat emboss. Use this embossed piece to die-cut the thanks sentiment. The thanks die is from My Favorite Things, Die-namics Twice the Thanks. Die-cut two more of the thanks sentiments using the white cardstock.
7. Adhere the thanks sentiments together with your favorite adhesive.
8. Select twine, thread, etc and attach to the thanks sentiment. Then attach to the layered cardstock panel. Just put the chosen hanging material through the hole and tape the strings to the back of the panel. Let the thanks die-cut hang on the front of the panel like a necklace, so it can be easily moved to read the statements.
9. Make a top folding A2 card with Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock.
10. Adhere panel to the A2 card using foam tape.

There are still a couple more days to enter. So, what are you waiting for? It is your turn to shine =)

Thank you and have a beautiful day!

Tracie

Challenge #5 Inspiration with Masha

Hello my dear friends, Masha is here! I'm so happy to share some inspiration for the new challenge #5. I used Beads - Gold - Rainbow for my card.

To create the Rainbow, I used the die of London Skyline from MFT. I colored the die-cut with distress inks. Then I die-cut two white frames using the Magical Frame from Create a Smile and cut out 2 windows of plastic to create the shakers.

I shared my colored London in two and made two window-shakers. One I added gold beads and the other lavender beads.

To finish my card, I added two text from Technique Tuesday. Here is the result ! :)

I hope you enjoyed my card and hope that I was able to inspire you. I look forward to your wonderful creations! :)

Thank you,
Masha.

Challenge Guest Designers : Kay Miller

Hello and Happy Thursday! Today I am thrilled to have Kay Miller from My Joyful Moments guesting for us! I have been a longtime fan of hers so I was especially excited about this post! I love everything she creates! To me, everything she touches turns into beautiful pieces of art! :) If you don't believe me, stop over to her blog after this and you'll be AMAZE!
_________________________________________________________________

Hi, I’m Kay Miller. I live in Missouri with my husband and two great kids. I first discovered stamping about 20 years ago when I wandered into a small stamping store in Anacortez, WA, while visiting my grandfather. I spent many years in the digital scrapbooking industry creating digital page kits for my own personal website, for the paper industry and participating on several creative teams for other companies. After completely burning out trying to come up with new designs, I quit, and rediscovered my love for stamping and card making, and started blogging. Along with card making, I also enjoy photography and creating whimsical Christmas ornaments with polymer clay. You can find me at my blog My Joyful Moments. I am thrilled to be guesting with Ka for her Tic-Tac-Toe challenge today!

For my card today, I am using the top row of the current Tic-Tac-Toe challenge board: green, beads, and geometric shapes. I love all three of those things! In my spare time (that means late at night when I’ve turned my craft room light out) I love to create little patterns out of mini Hama beads. They are tiny beads that I order from Europe. They are similar to the Perler beads that we loved to play with when we were kids, but only smaller. They are about 2.5 mm in size and come in such pretty colors. Anyway, I used one of my mini creations for the bead part of my card. I cut my shapes out with some stitched square dies and then added the pretty dark brown leaves and sentiment.

Thanks so much for having me! This was a fun challenge!

Did your jaw just dropped after seeing this gorgeous card? I did when I first saw it! I absolutely love how she interpreted the elements so beautifully! I would have never thought of that! So creative!!! Thanks so much to Kay, for inspiring us with an awesome out-of-the-box project! Make sure you hop on over to Kay's blog and leave her some bloggie love too!
