Challenge Eight

Hello and welcome back to another Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!

For challenge 8, we added a fun color inspiration to the mix! We hope you'll like it! Whichever rows inspires you, whether it be the row with the color inspiration or a row without is what we challenge you to create! You certainly may incorporate the color combo as part of your design, if you choose to work with a row without the color inspiration. Just make sure you include the other three elements in your design. Thank you!

Here's some explanation of the elements upbove:
  • 3 of a Kind - Use any 3 same items or images such as 3 enamel accents, 3 cupcakes, 3 candles and etc...
  • Color - Take out your coloring pencils, Copics, watercolor crayons or other coloring mediums and color. If you are coloring an image, you are good!
  • Label - You may use label stamps, label makers to create your labels or use label stickers for your project.

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamp sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set of their choice. If you already have all three in your stash, why not play to give one of these sets as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

Here's some AMA-ZING inspiration from our DT members to help get you started! We just love every single one of them!

Challenge #7 Inspiration with Tracie

Hello sweet crafty friends!

It is Tracie and I am excited to share with you some inspiration for Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #7.

My plan was to use the bottom row: Washi Tapes / Border Dies or Punches / Potted Plants. However, I ended up also using the third column: Tag / Kraft /Potted Plants.

So FUN!!

Honestly, I was a little stumped on what to create. My main inspiration was a piece of watercolored paper that I had sitting on my desk. I figured I could add a border to it and then liven it up with some washi tape. So, I was left with potted plants. I decorated the pot using washi tape and colored the plant with copics.

I again was stumped because I was not sure how best to position the elements. Then I had an aha moment and adhered the plant on a tag and used the border strip as a pocket to hold the tag. I made a cute, frilly embellishment out of twine to add to the hole of the tag.

I really think this card turned out cute and it was lots of fun!

Supplies Used
Cas-ual Fridays - Tag Buddies
Copic Sketch - B01, BG72 and RV23

I would be really happy if I inspired you and you played along. I know all of us at the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge enjoy your creations.

Crafty Hugs,
Tracie

Hi Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Fans! Did you get a chance to make something for Challenge 7 yet? If you haven't gotten the chance to participate or stuck on deciding which rows and elements to go with, then take today's inspiration from Amy Lee! She have a fun story-telling card to share!

_________________________________________________________________

Hello there! I'm Amy, also known as The Craft Bunny. I am from Hong Kong but now I live in Seattle, WA. It was hard to adjust to a completely different lifestyle and I was so bored at first. That was why I started cardmaking LOL. I love telling stories on cards and stretching my stamps to make unexpected scenes. I also love bright and happy colors.

For my card today, I went with the left column using the current Tic Tac Toe Challenge Board - Bunny, Decorative Frames and Washi Tapes. I love bunnies so that was an easy choice. I have used the bunnies from MFT Let's Strike Up the Band set. My card design was inspired by rock band music. I think of black and red colors when it comes to rock music. So, I used these two colors with a hint of brown/gold.

  1. I first made a black plastic record with some circle dies and distress inks
  2. Using the same circle die, I created an opening in the card front. I also used MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle
  3. Next, I stamped and colored the bunnies with Copic markers. To give them a ground to stand on, the washi tape came in handy
  4. I also stamped the music notes all over the background. The sentiment "You Rocked It" is stamped inside the card to finish the story of my card
  5. Lastly, I embellished with gold star confetti from SpiegelMomScraps
I had so much fun playing along here! Thank you for having me for this challenge! I can't wait to see what you will come up with :)

Challenge #7 inspiration with Shannon

Hello crafty friends!

Shannon here today to share some inspiration with the challenge Tic-Tac-Toe board.

For my card today I used the third row down, tag, kraft and potted plants.

I kept my card fairly simple using a white card base. I cut my tag out of kraft paper using my Cricut. I sponged a little bit of blue ink in the background so it didn't look too plain.  I stamped my sentiment from the Better Together stamp set from Neat and Tangled in Versa-mark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Now I didn't have a potted plant stamp, it's on my wish list but in the mean time I created my own. I used the flowers from the Delightful Days stamp set from Clearly Besotted and the flower pot is from the Our Friendship Grows stamp set from Lawn FawnI stamped my pot first and masked it off before i stamped my bouquet of flowers. I colored in with Copic markers, fussy cut out and adhered onto my tag.  I added some bakers twine on top of my card and some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh to finish of my card.

That's it for my card today! Hope you got inspired to play along and enjoyed my CAS card:)
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
