Champion Guest Designer : Giovana Smith

Hello! Today we have our 4th Champion Winner, Giovana Smith from Believe guest designing for us. Check out below for her project info and details, inspired by our current challenge.

_________________________________________________________________

Hello everybody!! I am super excited to be guest designing this time. Here is a little bit about me. My name is Giovana Smith, born and raised in Lima, Peru, Spanish as a first language and English as a second one. I am married, I have a daughter who loves to craft, although now she is very into music (clarinet and violin). I run a little daycare/babysitting job, and I love it very much. I started crafting in 2006, cutting rolls of paper and using scissors, LOL, things have changed a lot since then. I have been blessed to be part of several design teams and be published in different magazines. I love to craft as often as I can. I invite you to visit my blog "Believe" and check out my creations.

This is the card I created for the current challenge, very simple but yet elegant. I used the top line for my project, 3 leaves (3 layers), 3 enamel dots and a square card (6" square).

I started stamping the leaves in Antique Linen Distress Ink on a piece of watercolor cardstock, then colored them using the wet on wet technique, with Kuretake watercolor paints, allow the colors to dry naturally and add more color if desired. The sentiment I think invites to create more, I added this sentiment because I am trying to do better with watercoloring techniques, inviting myself to keep creating. I added a layer of shimmering cardstock to the watercolor panel and added it to the square card base, finally added 3 clear enamel dots.

Thank so much Ka for inviting me as a guest designer.
Hope you all like my creation.

Giovana

Berry Bouquet

Hello everyone!
Olesya's here with an inspirational post for SSD Tic-Tac-Toe challenge #8. The challenge board is so cool, you can create an adorable project in so many ways and variants. This time I've chosen the following combo: color inspiration - color - square card.

For the background images I took Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Clear embossing powder. Colored the flowers and berries with Artiste watercolor markers.

For the round berries I used a pen's cap and Chipped Sapphire distress ink. Stamped them and colored with the same distress ink, Adhered them on top of the embossed images and covered with Glossy accents. These berries remind me blueberries :) I wanted the images to pop up a little bit more and outlined them with a grey watercolor marker, added some grey and blue splashes here and there.

As embellishments I also used silver glitter tape and silver sequins. The palette turned out very fresh and cold. I printed the sentiment and placed it on top of my front panel.
Hope you got my portion of inspiration and ready to create something fabulous for our current challenge. Thank you so much for stopping by! Have an amazing day!

Challenge Eight

Hello and welcome back to another Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!

For challenge 8, we added a fun color inspiration to the mix! We hope you'll like it! Whichever rows inspires you, whether it be the row with the color inspiration or a row without is what we challenge you to create! You certainly may incorporate the color combo as part of your design, if you choose to work with a row without the color inspiration. Just make sure you include the other three elements in your design. Thank you!

Here's some explanation of the elements upbove:
  • 3 of a Kind - Use any 3 same items or images such as 3 enamel accents, 3 cupcakes, 3 candles and etc...
  • Color - Take out your coloring pencils, Copics, watercolor crayons or other coloring mediums and color. If you are coloring an image, you are good!
  • Label - You may use label stamps, label makers to create your labels or use label stickers for your project.

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamp sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set of their choice. If you already have all three in your stash, why not play to give one of these sets as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

Here's some AMA-ZING inspiration from our DT members to help get you started! We just love every single one of them!

Lindsey chose to do the top row: 3 of a kind, enamel accents, and square card.

Shannon went diagonal from bottom left to top right: color inspiration, color and square card.

Olesya chose the 3rd row vertically: square card, die-cut negatives, and food/drink.

Nora was inspired by the last row down: square card, die cut negatives, and food and drink.

Tracie chose to work with the 1st row across: 3 of a kind, enamel accents, and square card.

Amina worked with the diagonal row top left to bottom right: 3 of a kind, color and food/drink.

Thank you for joining us in our 8th challenge. Please read the "Challenge Rules" tab at the top of the blog to be eligible for the prize. You have until Saturaday, April 30 at 11:55pm CST to submit your entries. We can not wait to see what you create! HAVE FUN and don't forget to check back on Tuesday for our challenge winners! Challenge #7 Inspiration with Tracie

Hello sweet crafty friends!

It is Tracie and I am excited to share with you some inspiration for Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #7.

My plan was to use the bottom row: Washi Tapes / Border Dies or Punches / Potted Plants. However, I ended up also using the third column: Tag / Kraft /Potted Plants.

So FUN!!

Honestly, I was a little stumped on what to create. My main inspiration was a piece of watercolored paper that I had sitting on my desk. I figured I could add a border to it and then liven it up with some washi tape. So, I was left with potted plants. I decorated the pot using washi tape and colored the plant with copics.

I again was stumped because I was not sure how best to position the elements. Then I had an aha moment and adhered the plant on a tag and used the border strip as a pocket to hold the tag. I made a cute, frilly embellishment out of twine to add to the hole of the tag.

I really think this card turned out cute and it was lots of fun!

Supplies Used
Cas-ual Fridays - Tag Buddies
Copic Sketch - B01, BG72 and RV23

I would be really happy if I inspired you and you played along. I know all of us at the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge enjoy your creations.

Crafty Hugs,
Tracie
