Challenge Ten

Hello and welcome back to another Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge from Stamping Smiles Designs! First, we want to THANK YOU to all those who participated in our last challenge! Your creations were amazing and brought springtime loveliness and sweetness to us! We love all of them so much! Thanks for sharing and linking with us!

For this new challenge, please take some inspiration from the challenge board below using three elements in a row of your choice to inspire your next project! Whatever rows you chose and are inspired by is what we challenge you to create! Can't wait to see how you interpret the elements of your choosing!

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamp sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set of their choice. If you already have all three in your stash, why not play to give one of these sets as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

And now for some amazing inspiration from some of our design team members.

Lindsey was inspired by the middle column: fade in/fade out effect, ombre, and texture.

Shannon worked with the diagonal row from bottom left to top right: bow, ombre, and baby.

Olesya used the diagonal row going top left to bottom right: chevron, ombre, and vellum.

Nora also was inspired by the same diagonal row: chevron, ombre, and vellum.

And, Tracie, also was inspired by this same diagonal row too!: chevron, ombre, and vellum.

Thank you for joining us in our 10th challenge. Please read the "Challenge Rules" tab at the top of the blog to be eligible for the prize. You have until Tuesday, May 31 at 11:55pm CST to submit your entries. We can not wait to see what you create! HAVE FUN!

Challenge #9 Inspiration with Tracie

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am here to share a really quick inspirational card for Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #9.

FLOWERS / BIRTHDAY / MASKING TECHNIQUE

Our Family has a lot of May Birthdays, so it never hurts to have a couple extra cards ready this time of year. I masked the flower in Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set. The happy birthday sentiment is from Altenew Painted Greetings Stamp Set. A little stamp surgery took place to separate happy from birthday so it could be stacked. Oh, I remember when I used to be afraid to cut apart my stamps. Now it is second nature.

All inks used are Altenew Crisp Inks. They are lovely for layering. A little shimmer was added to the flower and the panel was popped up with some craft foam.

See, masking doesn't have to be tedious and take forever. Now it is your turn. You still have a couple more days to participate in Challenge 9.

Wishing all of you a beautiful and happy weekend!

Challenge #9 Inspiration Post with Coralynn

Hello everyone,

It's Coralynn and I'm here with some inspiration for our Challenge #9.

My choice = Flowers - Birthday - Masking Technique

Here is my card for the challenge. I die cut an A2 sized panel (LF Stitched Rectangle dies) out of dark grey card stock and adhered that to the card base of what card stock.

I started with the middle flower (Botanical Love Stamp Set) as you always want to stamp the image you want to have in the forefront first.  Then I stamped the flower again on a scrap piece of paper to create a mask.  I then stamped the others and masking as I go along.

I then coloured in the main flower with my copics in the "R" family (numbers listed below) and the "W" family for the flowers in the background.  I love how the middle flower pops off the card.

Once I had everything coloured, I fussy cut the panel and popped it up on foam tape.  I heat embossed the sentiment (WPlus9 Happy Wishes Stamp Set) with black embossing powder on a piece of vellum and adhered that to the flower panel.  I added some warm grey gems and called the card done.

Copic colours used:
R000, R11, R32, R37, R89.
W00, W3, W5.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you got inspired.

Coralynn  :)

Challenge Guest Designer : Rubeena Naz

Hello, hello, hello! We're back today to share a fabulous post and gorgeous card by our guest designer, Rubeena Naz from A Rare Ruby. Ruby had always created such beautiful floral cards, and this one is no exception!! Check out the full details below!

_________________________________________________________________

Good morning! I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Stamping Smiles Designs' Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #9! A little background about me: I am in my early 30s and discovered papercrafting about two years ago. Professionally, I work as a social worker, but I spend a lot of my downtime creating cards. Some of my favorite techniques include heat embossing and watercoloring. I currently design for The Ton and Coffee Loving Cardmakers. You can find me at A Rare Ruby, where I share my work as well as organizations tips.

For Challenge #9, I knew instantly that I wanted to use flowers on my cards. I picked the first row down: Flowers, Birthday, and Masking Technique. My card features Altenew and Mama Elephant. I started with a watercolor card cut down to 4" x 5.5". Using masking tape, I stamped the rose from Penned Rose several times as well as some of the leaves in a black waterproof ink. I used my Mission Gold watercolors to color the images. On separate cardstock, I stamped 'hello' from Halftone Hello onto white cardstock and die-cut with the coordinating die. I die-cut the word several times from black cardstock and stacked them together for dimension.

I stamped 'happy birthday' from Mama Elephant's Monster Jam with VersaMark and heat set with white embossing powder. Finally, I arranged all the pieces together on my cardstock and added some clear sequins from The Ton.

I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration! Thanks so much for having me as a guest!
