Inspiration with Nora for Challenge #16

Hi everyone!! It is Nora here to bring you some inspiration for the Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #16. I cannot believe how FUN this badge was. I know I say that every month but the challenges just keep getting better and better!!

I decided to use the first column down for my card this time-banners
use tiny stamps and clothespin

I started off my card by stamping a background with tiny stamps from My Favorite Things "Sunflower Sweetheart" (retired) and "Hog Heaven" stamp sets in black dye ink onto "Limelight" card stock. I  used an assortment of Prismacolor pencils to color in the images and outlined each of
them with a white gel pen.

I then die cut the panel with a "Blueprints #13" die and mounted it onto an A2, top folding white card. I dug through my scraps of patterned paper to find two papers that
would look good with my background and created two banners that I adhered
to the front of the card using foam adhesive.

Next I stamped a sentiment from WPlus9's "That is All" stamp set on white card stock using "Limelight" dye ink and die cut it out with the coordinating die. I adhered the sentiment over the banners. My last step was to stamp "you are" with brown ink,
also from the same WPlus9 set. I used a mini clothespin and foam
adhesive to adhere the strip to the card.

I hope this card helps you to look at your tiny stamps in a different way so you can give this challenge a try. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Challenge #16 Inspiration with Varada

Hi friends,

Varada here, with some inspiration for challenge #16.

I chose hexagons + misting + birthday for my card today:

I combined the hexagons and misting to create a fun background for my focal point. To begin with, I took the hexagon embossing folder and inked one side of it with two colors of distress inks - mermaid lagoon + cracked pistachio. I misted the colors on the embossing folder (not the paper) lightly with water using a spray bottle. This activated the inks and made them blend in the middle. I embossed a 4 x 5 inch piece of SSS white cardstock through this transferring the pattern as well as the misted colors on it. I also trimmed randomly on the sides for a fun effect.

For the focal point, I used a spellbinders die with doll pink colored cardstock from SSS. Once it was die cut, I heat embossed it two times with some rainbow sparkling embossing powder to make it extra shiny. This came with one of the SSS monthly card kits.

Finally I added a flower-y sentiment from one of the older StampinUp stamp sets, layered my pieces and added a few sequins to finish the card.

Hope you like it and are inspired to try something like this too. Don't forget to share with us what you make.
Hugs,
~Varada

Challenge #16 Inspiration with Channin

Hello everyone!! It's Channin here with some challenge #16 inspiration!

This time I chose to go down the middle with hexagons, misting, and birthday. And here's what I created.

So this was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone. I don't think I have ever really misted before except with water for the watercolor smooshing technique and on top of that I just could not come up with a design that I liked. So what do you do when you need alittle inspiration, well, I went on pinterest and I found this card, then boom I had an idea.
First, I made similar hexagon letters using my cricut. I cut them out of contact paper and then put my hexagon letters on a 5" by 7" panel of watercolor paper. Next, I mixed some water with red watercolor cake using a brush and then used the same brush to transfer my paint into the bottle of my mister.

I then misted over left side of my panel and continued this process of mixing, filling, and spraying for my other colors. After I had completed my rainbow of colors I let my panel dry then I peeled off the contact paper. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment from Waffle Flower Crafts' set, Bowtiful, in versafine black onyx ink.
I hope you enjoyed and found some inspiration. Maybe give your watercolors a try in your mister too, you might be surprised by some of your results.

Have a wonderful day!!

Challenge Sixteen

Hello and welcome back to the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge blog! Today is the start of a brand new challenge. For this challenge, we included a photo inspiration as one of the element in the challenge board. If you choose the row without the photo inspiration, you may use the photo as part of your design as long as you include the other three elements just like DT Member Rachel did in her card (see below). Please use the challenge board below using three elements in a row of your choice. You can create in any way you like as long as we can see the elements in your design.

You are playing for one of the following 3"x 4" stamp sets. The winner will get to choose the stamp set of their choice. If you already have all three in your stash, why not play to give one of these sets as a gift for one of your crafty friend? You can click on the links below to read more about each stamp set.

And now for some amazing inspiration from our design team members.
